Policies

Administering Medication Policy

Schools have a duty of care to provide a safe working and learning environment for all staff and students. At SPJE we understand that many students need medication to control illnesses such as asthma, diabetes and epilepsy. Teachers, as part of their duty of care, assist students where appropriate and where the necessary preliminary planning has been undertaken.

Anaphylaxis Policy

Anaphylaxis is an acute allergic reaction to certain food items and insect stings. 1:200 people in the general community are at risk of anaphylaxis. It is a medical emergency that requires a rapid response. The most common allergens are nuts, eggs, cow’s milk and bee or other insect stings, and some medications. Although allergic reactions to food are common in children, severe life threatening reactions are uncommon and deaths are rare.

Anti-Bullying Policy

The school will provide a positive culture where bullying is not accepted, and in so doing, all will have the right of respect from others, the right to learn or to teach, and a right to feel safe and secure in their school environment.

Sunsmart Policy

Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world. Sun exposure during childhood and adolescence is a risk factor for skin cancer later in life. At St Peter Julian School, we believe that all children should be protected from skin damage caused by the harmful ultra violet rays of the sun.

Uniform Policy

At St. Peter Julian Eymard School, students are expected to wear the correct school uniform as we believe it reinforces in students a pride in their own appearance, instils recognition of themselves as an integral part of the school community, and assists in developing pride in representing our school. Issues of equality, health and safety, and expense are also factors that contribute to the establishment of our uniform.
